Seahawks 39, Steelers 30

-

At CenturyLink Field, Seattle STORYLINE: Russell Wilson’s fifth touchdown pass, an 80-yarder to Doug Baldwin with 2:01 remaining, guided Seattle (6-5) past Pittsburgh (6-5) and foiled a 456-yard day by Ben Roethlisberger. Wilson passed for a season-high 345 yards, with three touchdowns to Baldwin (16, 30, 80 yards) and two to Jermaine Kearse (12, 9). Baldwin had six catches for 145 yards. On the decisive play, third-and-10 at the 20, he made the catch on a crossing route, broke two tackles and raced to the end zone. The victory came at a cost to the Seahawks, who lost Pro Bowl tight end Jimmy Graham for the reason with a torn patellar tendon in his right knee with 13:36 to play. He was injured while reaching back for a ball in the end zone. Roethlisberger’s yardage total was the highest ever allowed by Seattle. He was 36 of 55 for only one touchdown, a 69-yarder to Markus Wheaton that gave the Steelers a brief 27-26 lead with 11:40 to play. But Baldwin’s 30-yard TD put the Seahawks back ahead to stay. Roethlisberger later went to the locker room under the concussion protocol, and backup Landry Jones led the Steelers’ final possession. Wheaton finished with 201 yards on nine catches. QUOTABLE: “You could just see it in (Wilson’s) eyes that he had that killer instinct. He was going to do whatever it takes.” — Kearse NEXT: Seahawks at Vikings (-1), 10 a.m. Sunday; Colts at Steelers (-7), 5:30 p.m. Sunday
