■ Twins 8, Royals 5 — At Kansas City, Mo., Eddie Rosario homered, hit a two-run single and had a sacrifice fly for Minnesota, which pulled within 1 1/2 games of New York for the top AL wild card. Ian Kennedy (4-11) is winless in a Kansas City-record 18 straight home starts.

■ Red Sox 9, Rays 3 — At Boston, Drew Pomeranz (15-5) held Tampa Bay hitless until the fifth inning and ultimately allowed two runs on two hits and struck out seven over six innings, and Mookie Betts hit a three-run homer as Boston won its third straight.

■ Rangers 11, Yankees

5— At Arlington, Texas, Elvis Andrus had three hits, including a tiebreakin­g two-run single in the fifth, as Texas erased an early four-run deficit and Martin Perez (12-10) won hits seventh straight start.

■ Tigers 5, Blue Jays 4

— At Toronto, rookie Jeimer Candelario started a 5-4-3 triple play, Detroit’s first triple play since 2001, and Nicholas Castellano­s hit a third-inning grand slam off Marcus Stroman (11-7).

■ Athletics 9, Astros 8 —

At Oakland, Calif., Jed Lowrie hit a walk-off RBI single in the ninth after Boog Powell’s tying home run as Oakland snapped Houston’s seven-game win streak. Josh Reddick hit a go-ahead RBI double in the top of the ninth after an earlier two-run homer and another run-scoring double.

■ Mariners 4, Angels 3 — At Seattle, Ben Gamel hit a goahead three-run homer in the second, and Mike Leake (9-12) held Los Angeles to two earned runs over six innings as Seattle halted a three-game skid. two-run homer off John Lackey (11-11) in the first for his 300th career home run, and Jimmy Nelson (12-6) struck out seven over five innings while combining with three relievers on a five hit shutout.

■ Rockies 5, Dodgers 4 — At Los Angeles, pinch hitter Raimel Tapia hit a two-run double in the fifth, which was followed by consecutiv­e RBI doubles by Charlie Blackmon and D.J. Lemahieu, as Colorado sent Los Angeles to its eighth straight loss and 13th in 14 games.

■ Padres 10, Diamondbac­ks 6— At Phoenix, Manuel

Margot had a two-run triple in San Diego’s six-run fourth and finished 3-for-4 with four RBIS as Arizona’s 13-game win streak ended. Rey Fuentes and J.D. Martinez each hit a two-run homer for the Diamondbac­ks.

■ Mets 5, Reds 1 — At New York, Jose Reyes homered twice off Findlay Prep product Amir Garrett (3-7), and Travis Taijeron added his first career home run to back Seth Lugo (6-4), who shut out Cincinnati on four hits over six innings.

■ Nationals 11, Phillies 10 — At Washington, Michael A. Taylor hit an inside-the-park grand slam and totaled five RBIS and a career-best four hits, and Trea Turner added a home run and three RBIS for Washington, which won its fifth straight.

■ Marlins 7, Braves 1 — At Atlanta, Jose Urena (13-6) held Atlanta to one run on three hits over 6 1/3 innings and added his first career RBI, and Ichiro Suzuki hit his 2,500th career single in Miami’s four-run ninth as the Marlins halted a five-game slide.

■ Cardinals 4, Pirates 1 — At St. Louis, Luke Weaver (5-1) shut out Pittsburgh struck out seven over 5 2/3 innings and drove in a run as St. Louis won for the seventh time in nine games and dealt the Pirates their third straight loss.
