Rebels softball releases schedule for 2018 season under new coach

UNLV softball released its 2018 schedule, coach Kristie Fox said Wednesday. The season will feature 50 games, with 26 contests against nonconfere­nce opponents and 24 games against conference opponents as part of eight three-game series in Mountain West play.

The Rebels will participat­e in five tournament­s over the first five weeks, playing 26 nonleague games from Feb. 9 to March 11.

Three of the tournament­s will be hosted by UNLV. The spring season will be the first at UNLV for Fox, who was hired during the summer.

Baseball: UNLV received signed national letters of intent from 11 student-athletes — Troy Balko, James Gamble, Jacob Godman, Chase Hanson, Ryan Mcdonald, Jake Mclean, Isaiah Montoya, Duke Pahukoa, Austin Pfeifer, Ty Pohlmann and Edarian Williams — coach Stan Stolte announced.

Godman (West Career & Technical Academy/palo Verde), Mclean (Coronado ), Pahukoa (Durango), Pfeifer (Arbor View) and Williams (Rancho) are all local products, while junior college transfer Mcdonald was born in Las Vegas.

Men’s golf: UNLV received signed national letters of intent from Jack Kozlowski and Marco Trstenjak during the early signing period, coach Dwaine Knight said.

Kozlowski is from Columbus, Ohio, and Trstenjak is from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Volleyball: UNLV changed the time of its home final Saturday against Air Force to 1 p.m.
