You’re probably wondering where the story for Wednesday night’s Golden Knights-ducks game is. And the whereabouts of the UNLV-UTAH game story. And the 14 NBA results. And the 14 other NHL summaries.

There’s a reason there are no late results in this Thanksgiving edition of the Review-journal sports section. It involves all of those “preprints,” or Black Friday sales circulars that are spilling out of your RJ bundle.

The paper is three times as big as any normal weekday paper. It takes longer to produce, package and deliver. Your carrier prepared for this day a week ahead of time.

Because of this, we had to move up our deadlines to 6 p.m. It’s a once-a-year occurrence, and it has happened the previous two Thanksgivings

I’ve been at the RJ.

We had similar deadlines for Thanksgiving Day when I was the sports editor at the Nashville Tennessean and the Sacramento Bee.
