Seahawks put off Kaepernick workout over anthem issues

After arranging for Colin Kaepernick to work out for the Seattle Seahawks this week, team officials postponed the trip when the quarterbac­k declined to say he would stop kneeling during the national anthem next season, ESPN reported.

Seattle still is considerin­g bringing in the UNR product for a tryout, and no decisions are final, a source said.

No NFL team has worked out Kaepernick, who once helped lead the 49ers to the Super Bowl, since he became a free agent after the 2016 season.

Texans: Houston released offensive tackle Derek Newton, who if filing a grievance against the team for not paying a $500,000 roster bonus he believes he deserves after tearing patella tendons in both knees in 2016 and missing 2017.
