Clark County fire station to host free open house

The Clark County Fire Department is hosting a community open house — with a visit from Santa — from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Fire Station 38.

The free event will feature a fire safety house, a vehicle demonstrat­ion, tours of the fire station and fire engine, free food and drinks and fire, medical and educationa­l informatio­n.

Santa’s visit is scheduled from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

Fire Station 38 is at 1755 Silver Hawk Ave., near Serene and Eastern avenues. the seat, police said in the release. A passenger in the car started to give him medical aid as the woman called police.

The man was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in extremely critical condition, police said.

Detectives determined that the man had been stabbed in the neck near a restroom in the park. Witnesses reported seeing two men and a woman arguing near the restroom, but they did not see the stabbing.

Adair advised mountain residents to be on the lookout for winter driving conditions and possible road closures.

Saturday and Sunday should be sunny and partly cloudy with highs of 59 and 60 degrees, respective­ly, the weather service said.
