Derozan, balanced Spurs surge past James, Lakers

SAN ANTONIO — Demar Derozan had 36 points and nine assists to lead eight San Antonio scorers in double figures, rallying the Spurs to a 133-120 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.

Lebron James had 35 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds for Los Angeles, which led by as many as 15 points but was outscored 3213 early in the fourth quarter and fell behind 121-114.

Reserves Patty Mills and Jakob Poeltl scored 14 points apiece for the Spurs, who held a 52-26 edge in bench scoring.

Kyle Kuzma had 27 points and Lonzo Ball 13 points and 11 assists for the Lakers.

Bulls 114, Thunder 112 — At Chicago, Lauri Markkanen hit a go-ahead layup with 4.9 seconds left and totaled 24 points for Chicago, which halted a seven-game slide with its first win under coach Jim Boylen. Russell Westbrook had 24 points, 17 rebounds, 13 assists and 10 turnovers for Oklahoma City, which had won four in a row.

Nets 106, Raptors 105, OT — At

New York, D’angelo Russell scored six of his 29 points in overtime for Brooklyn, which ended an eight-game slide in its first win over Toronto in their past 13 meetings. Kawhi Leonard scored 32 points for the Raptors but didn’t get open for a final shot.

76ers 117, Pistons 111 — At Detroit, Jimmy Butler scored 26 of his 38 points in the second half for Philadelph­ia, which overcame a 15-point third-quarter deficit despite the absence of Joel Embiid (rest) for the first time this season. Blake Griffin had 31 points and 12 rebounds for Detroit.

Hornets 113, Nuggets 107 — At Charlotte, N.C., Kemba Walker had 21 points, eight assists and six rebounds for Charlotte, which halted a three-game skid and Denver’s seven-game win streak. Nuggets forward Paul Millsap, a four-time All-star, reportedly sustained a broken right toe.

Heat 115, Suns 98 — At Phoenix,

Bam Adebayo scored 20 of his career-high 22 points in the first half for Miami, which dealt Phoenix its eighth straight loss. The Suns again were without their top two scorers, Devin Booker (left hamstring strain) and T.J. Warren (sore right ankle).

Pacers 112, Magic 90 — At Orlando, Fla., Bojan Bogdanovic scored 21 of his 26 points in the first half for Indiana, which has won eight straight over Orlando and 15 of the past 16 meetings. Nikola Vucevic scored 22 points for the Magic, who missed 25 of 33 3-point tries.

Warriors 105, Bucks 95 — At Milwaukee, Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry each made 4 of 9 3-point attempts while scoring 20 points for Golden State, which made 19 of 46 3-pointers. Milwaukee converted 18 Warriors turnovers into 26 points but missed 32 of 39 3s.

Grizzlies 107, Pelicans 103 — At New Orleans, reserve Jamychal Green scored 24 points for Memphis, which converted 18 New Orleans turnovers into 26 points in a game with 10 ties and 18 lead changes. Julius Randle had 26 points and 13 rebounds for the Pelicans.

Kings 129, Cavaliers 110 — At Cleveland, De’aaron Fox had 30 points and 12 assists for Sacramento, which led by as many as 25 points in its third win in a row. Jordan Clarkson scored 26 points for Cleveland, which managed a 66-66 halftime tie.
