Booker makes first Iowa visit as official candidate
On his first trip to Iowa as a presidential candidate, New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker urged Democratic activists in small towns and black leaders on Friday to heed his call for social justice and apply it to the fight for universal health care coverage and a fair criminal justice system.
Booker was campaigning in the state and planned to visit Iowa City on Friday and continue to stops in Marshalltown and Des Moines on Saturday.
Meanwhile, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Friday that he’ll decide by the end of the month whether to seek the presidency.
He confirmed Friday that he “would separate myself ” from his foundation and private business should he launch a presidential campaign, just as he did as New York City mayor.
