All-star Lindor likely to miss two months with strained calf

-

Cleveland shortstop Francisco Lindor likely will miss the start of the season with a right calf strain sustained this week while working out.

The Indians expect the 25-year-old three-time All-star to be out seven to nine weeks. He batted .277 with 38 home runs, 92 RBIS and 129 runs in 2018.

In other Indians news, outfielder Matt Joyce, 34, and right-handed reliever Alex Wilson, 32, agreed to minor league deals that each would be worth $1.25 million for one year if either makes the majors.

Brewers: Right-hander Josh Tomlin, 34, agreed to a minor league deal with Milwaukee that could be worth up to $2.25 million for one year if he makes the majors.

White Sox: Outfielder Brandon Guyer, 33, agreed to a minor league deal with Chicago that would be worth $1.6 million for one year.
