Las Vegas Review-Journal - - HEALTH -

Valentine’s Day may be the most romantic time of the year, but it’s also the day you can potentially save a life. Feb. 14 is National Donor Day, which raises awareness for the nearly 115,000 Americans currently waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant, including 582 Nevadans. One million tissue transplants take place in the U.S. each year, and of critical need are organ, eye and tissue donors. Nevada Donor Organization’s own Chief Operating Officer Simon Keith is currently fighting for his life and is on the list for a kidney and heart transplant.
