Ducks, in seven-game skid, fire coach Car­lyle

Randy Car­lyle was fired as Ana­heim coach amid the Ducks’ seven-game slide, dur­ing which they have been outscored 378, with gen­eral man­ager Bob Mur­ray tak­ing over coach­ing du­ties through the rest of the sea­son.

Car­lyle, 62, is 384-256-96 in two stints with Ana­heim.

He led the team to the Stan­ley

Cup in 2007 and three West­ern Con­fer­ence fi­nal berths.

The Ducks made the playoffs in seven of Car­lyle’s eight full sea­sons. But they’ve lost 19 of their past 21 games.

Maple Leafs: Left wing Tyler En­nis, 29, was ac­ti­vated from in­jured re­serve af­ter miss­ing 17 games since Dec. 22 with a bro­ken an­kle. The 10-year vet­eran has seven goals and four as­sists in 33 games this sea­son.
