Trent, Rauch set early pace for men’s golfers
Sophomore Jack Trent and freshman David Rauch each shot even-par 72 to lead UNLV to a tie for 12th after one round of the 20-team John

Women’s swimming and diving: At Minneapolis, Carissa Armijo placed second in the 500-yard freestyle, and fellow freshman Montse Moreno was second in 3-meter diving for the Rebels, who are eighth at the midway point of the 10-team Mountain West Championships.
Track and field: At Albuquerque, N.M., Stella Clemens placed fifth in the pentathlon for the Rebels, who are tied for seventh after the first day of the three-day, nine-team Mountain West Indoor Championships.
Women’s basketball: Sophomore guard Bailey Thomas, a Centennial product, was voted to the Google Cloud COSIDA Academic All-district VIII second team, the first Lady Rebel to gain all-district academic honors since 2008-09. Tavon Young agreed to a threeyear, $25.8 million extension, making the 24-year-old the NFL’S highest-paid nickelback.
Entering the final year of his rookie deal, Young scored two touchdowns off fumble recoveries in 2018, when he battled a sports hernia for nearly half the season.
Browns: Wide receiver Jaelen Strong signed with Cleveland. Terms were not disclosed. The 26-year-old Arizona State product, who missed last season with a knee injury, has 31 catches for 330 yards and four touchdowns in 20 games with Houston and Jacksonville.
Bengals: Lou Anarumo, 52, the New York Giants’ defensive backs coach in 2018 after serving that role with Miami for six seasons, joined Cincinnati as its fourth defensive coordinator in the past three seasons.
Saints: Safety Kurt Coleman will be released, saving New Orleans at least $4 million against the salary cap. The 30-year-old nine-year NFL veteran played in all of the Saints’ 18 games in 2018.
