Braves: Right-hander Mike Soroka, who tweaked his right shoulder while lifting weights last month, was shut down for five days because of renewed shoulder soreness. Soroka, 21, one of Atlanta’s top prospects, missed the second half of 2018 with shoulder issues.

Angels: Reliever Dan Jennings agreed to a minor league deal with an invitation to major league spring training. The 31-year-old left-hander has a 2.96 ERA in seven seasons with three teams, making at least 50 appearances in each of the past four years.

White Sox: Right-hander Ervin Santana agreed to a minor league contract that would be worth $4.3 million for one year if he makes the majors. The 36-year-old two-time Allstar is 149-125 with a 4.06 ERA in 14 major league seasons with four teams.

Mets: An MRI examination of Jed Lowrie’s left knee was negative, and the team said the 34-year-old infielder, while behind schedule, likely will be ready for Opening Day.

Phillies: Owner John Middleton was in Las Vegas on Friday meeting with coveted free-agent outfielder Bryce Harper and his representatives, ESPN reported.
