Indians’ Kluber put on IL, out indefinitely with arm fracture
Cleveland placed three-time All-star righthander Corey Kluber on the injured list with a broken right forearm that will sideline the two-time Cy Young Award winner indefinitely.
The 33-year-old sustained a nondisplaced fracture of his right ulna Wednesday when struck by a line drive. The Indians said Kluber does not need surgery and will be re-examined in three to four weeks.
Reds: The contract of Nick Senzel, the second pick in the 2016 draft and Cincinnati’s top prospect, was selected from Triple-a Louisville. Senzel, 23, played third base, shortstop and second base before transitioning to the outfield this year.
Giants: Gerardo Parra, 31, was designated for assignment, and fellow outfielder Mike Gerber, 26, was promoted from Triple-a Sacramento, where he was batting .357 with six home runs. Parra batted .198 in 30 games.
Yankees: Third baseman Miguel Andujar, sidelined since April 1 with a labrum tear in his right shoulder, will be activated Saturday.
