■ CARDINALS 5, Brewers 2: Harrison

Bader homered and tripled for St. Louis, which clinched a postseason berth as the NL’S fifth seed. Milwaukee, which hasn’t had a winning record at any point this season, also gained playoff entry as the NL’S eighth seed via San Francisco’s loss.

■ Reds 5, TWINS 3: Tucker Barnhart and Eugenio Suarez each had an RBI single in Cincinnati’s three-run 10th as the Reds became the NL’S seventh playoff seed. Minnesota won the AL Central with the White Sox’s loss and are seeded third.

■ Marlins 5, YANKEES 0: Rookie Jazz Chisholm hit a solo home run and a two-run double, Daniel Castano (1-2) pitched 6 1/3 shutout innings for his first major league win, and Miami (31-29) ended a streak of 10 straight losing seasons.

■ Cubs 10, WHITE SOX 8: Kris Bryant, Billy Hamilton and David Bote homered for the Cubs, who built a 10-2 lead by the seventh. The White Sox lost seven of their final eight games to drop to the AL’S seventh playoff seed.

■ Padres 5, GIANTS 4: Mitch Moreland hit a go-ahead RBI double in the fourth for

San Diego, which eliminated San Francisco from postseason contention. Mauricio Dubon, Brandon Crawford and Wilmer Flores homered for the Giants.

■ ATHLETICS 6, Mariners 2: Mark Canha hit a two-run double and totaled four RBIS to back Frankie Montas, who allowed no earned runs and struck out 13 in six innings, as Oakland gained the AL’S No. 2 playoff seed.

■ Orioles 7, BLUE JAYS 5: Cedric Mullins hit two triples, one of which drove in two runs, for Baltimore. Lourdes Gurriel Jr.’s four hits included a two-run homer for Toronto, which fell to the No. 8 AL playoff seed.

■ RAYS 5, Phillies 0: Rookie Josh Fleming (5-0) blanked Philadelph­ia on four hits over six innings, handing the Phillies their seventh loss in eight games and eliminatin­g them from postseason contention.

■ NATIONALS 15, Mets 5: Trea Turner hit a grand slam and totaled seven RBIS, and 21-year-old Juan Soto (.351) of Washington became the NL’S youngest batting champion. Pete Alonso homered twice for New York.

■ INDIANS 8, Pirates 6: Carlos Santana hit a go-ahead two-run double in the seventh and totaled four RBIS for Cleveland, which overcame a 6-2 deficit and gained the AL’S fourth playoff seed.

■ Red Sox 9, BRAVES 1: Jackie Bradley Jr. had three hits, including a go-ahead home run, and made a leaping catch at the wall in center for Boston to rob Ozzie Albies of an extra-base hit.

■ DIAMONDBAC­KS 11, Rockies 3: Kole Calhoun hit a two-run homer and totaled three RBIS to back Madison Bumgarner (1-4), who pitched five shutout innings in his first win since Sept. 4, 2019.

■ RANGERS 8, Astros 4: Rougned Odor hit a three-run homer and a solo shot for Texas (2238), which won its third straight to avoid the worst winning percentage in club history.

■ DODGERS 5, Angels 0: A.J. Pollock homered twice, giving the Dodgers a majorsbest 118 home runs in their fifth shutout of the season. They went 15-1-4 in series this year.

■ ROYALS 3, Tigers 1: Adalberto Mondesi and Ryan Mcbroom homered to back rookie Brady Singer (4-5), who allowed one run on three hits and no walks in seven innings.
