Las Vegas resident Kang falls one shot back in LPGA event

Las Vegas resident Danielle Kang birdied the par-5 18th hole for a 2-under 70 and fell into a tie for second with Bianca Pagdangana­n (67) at 9-under 135 halfway through the Drive On Championsh­ip in Greensboro, Georgia. Ally Mcdonald (68) led by one stroke. Kang, who shared the first-round lead, paces the Race to the CME Globe and, at No. 5, is the field’s topranked player.

■ European PGA: At Brescia, Italy, Laurie Canter shot 4-under 68 for a 16-under 128 total and a two-stroke Italian Open lead at the tournament’s midpoint. Fellow Englishman Ross Mcgowan (64) was alone in second after a bogey-free, eight-birdie round.
