Sandra (Sandy) Rae Harms, 76, of Las Vegas, NV, passed October 18, 2020 after battling Alzheimer’s. She was born on 2/5/1944 in Chicago, grew up in Grand Junction, CO and graduated from Rancho High School. Sandy & Kurt Harms were married for 45 years. She was a stay-at-home mom, while also assisting Kurt with their business “Kurt Harms Tax Service”. They built up a large clientele over 30 years using their motto, “Taxes Hurt, Call Kurt”. While Kurt was in client’s homes collecting tax data, Sandy was working in their home office making appointmen­ts, updating files, filling out forms & mailing to the IRS. Sandy was very involved & volunteere­d at her children’s school, First Good Shepherd Lutheran School. She was a member of the PTL, the School Board and volunteere­d in the lunchroom. She was a member of First Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and recently attended Mountain View Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling, outdoor activities, walking with sister-in-law Rachel and spending time with family. Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Kurt; her parents, Philip and Jessie Moen. She is survived by her children, Christine (Jeff) Lubs, Cari (Chris) Shaver, & Eric (Jenny) Harms; brothers Robert Moen & David (Tawnya) Moen; seven grandchild­ren; numerous nieces and nephews. Services were held at Mountain View Lutheran Church on October 30th. Donations in Sandy’s memory can be made to Lutheran Social Services of Nevada.
