The Metropolitan Police Department said it is monitoring for any local unrest as the trial nears an end.

“The LVMPD remains vigilant as national incidents of unrest are ongoing,” the department said in a statement Monday. “Our officers remain ready to respond to any situation that may arise locally and have resources readily available.”
