SUNDAY Aviators 5, Salt Lake Bees 3, 10 innings at Smith’s Ballpark, Salt Lake City

■ RECAP: Cody Thomas hit his 13th home run of the season, a two-run shot with one out in the 10th inning, as the Aviators rallied for the victory. Thomas homered to right field off Bees reliever Zac Ryan, bringing home Frank Schwindel who started the extra inning at second base. The Aviators, trailing 3-2, forced the extra inning when Nate Mondou led off the ninth with a triple to center field and then came home on Jacob Wilson’s sacrifice fly.

■ RECORD: Aviators (23-23), Bees (20-25).

■ AT THE PLATE: Pete Kozma had a triple and a single to account for two of the Aviators’ eight hits. Preston Palmeiro doubled and singled twice to pace the Bees.

■ ON THE MOUND: Reliever Zach Jackson (1-0), who worked the ninth and 10th innings for the Aviators, was the winning pitcher. He yielded two hits and struck out two. Ryan (1-3) suffered the loss.

■ GAME NOTES: The Aviators evened the six-game series at 2-2 and are now 4-6 against Salt Lake this season. … They also are 2-0 in extra-inning games. … The Aviators have won five of their past seven games after losing six straight. … They will play the Bees twice more (Monday and Tuesday) before returning home for an off day Wednesday followed by the opening of a six-game series at Las Vegas Ballpark against the Sacramento River Cats on Thursday.

■ MONDAY: Aviators, RHP Brian Howard (23, 6.21 ERA) at Bees, LHP Dillon Peters (1-2, 5.52), 5:35 p.m.
