MARJORIE STUHMER

-

Marjorie “Margie” Moren Stuhmer

passed away peacefully on August 21, 2021. Margie, the daughter of Josephine

Kummer and Hugh Moren, and stepdaughter of Carl Fischer was born on

July 8, 1932. Margie was full of life and the best example of how to live life for her children and loving husband, Jack Stuhmer, whom preceded her to heaven.

Margie was a trusting person who saw the best in everyone she encountered.

She saw the world from “Rose-colored” glasses which, to her, was a realization that the world we experience is the one we see through the lens we choose to. She was a school teacher and her positivity was infectious and truly shaped those around her. Her children and spouses, Steve Stuhmer and wife Linda,

Chris Stuhmer and wife Michelle, Kathy Foley and husband Mark and Mark

Stuhmer and wife Kimberly, can attest she never had a bad word to say about anyone in her 89 years. EVER! Margie grew up in the Depression era and never missed an opportunity to remind us that she walked to school in the rain, sleet, snow and uphill in both directions. She learned by experience and realized her

dreams through perseverance. She taught us to never take anything for granted, be it material possessions or our relationships. Margie, graduated from Miami University of Ohio, where she met her adoring husband, Jack, of 50 years. Her AO Pi Sorority wrote of her…“she was the fashion plate of the sorority, bubbles with personality, has countless friends with more than enough smiles for all.” After Margie and Jack graduated, they traveled the country at the direction of the US Air Force while Jack was a Captain and B-25 pilot. They eventually settled in Las Vegas in 1964 to raise their family and became very active members of the LV community. She was an avid tennis player, water and

snow skier, animal lover, PEO Member and fashionista. She was always the last one to leave the party even in her 80’s! A beautiful woman in every way who will

always be remembered for her engaging smile. Her nine Grand Children, Jason

Stuhmer, Shanna Birky, Michael Stuhmer, Jack Foley, Rogina Fabish,

Sydney Stuhmer, Logan Heese, Colin Stuhmer, Brian Stuhmer and her three

Great Grand Children, Zoey Stuhmer, Madison Stuhmer and Isla Fabish referred to her as Gigi (as in, “G.G.” for gorgeous grandma) and remember her lovingly for her kindness and her beautiful spirit. The world has lost a bright light

and we will miss her dearly. Those who she touched, however, will carry on the torch in her honor.
