Displaced Saints poised to return home after Week 3

The Saints plan to continue practicing at Texas Christian next week in preparatio­n for their Week 3 game before returning to their New Orleansare­a headquarte­rs in Week 4, when they will host the New York Giants at the Superdome, coach Sean Payton said. The team has been displaced since Aug. 28, as Hurricane Ida approached Louisiana’s coast.

■ Packers: Linebacker Za’darius Smith (back) was placed on injured reserve. The 29-year-old two-time Pro Bowl selection, who totaled 26 sacks over the past two seasons, practiced one day during training camp and played 18 snaps in Week 1.

■ Vikings: Defensive end Everson Griffen sustained a concussion in a car accident this week after swerving to miss a deer and hitting a tree, coach Mike Zimmer said. The 33-year-old was ruled out for Sunday.

■ Dolphins: Wide receiver Will Fuller was ruled out of what would have been his season debut and will be away from the team indefinite­ly while dealing with a personal issue, coach Brian Flores said.
