Homa rallies, edges local resident Mcnealy in Napa

Max Homa holed out from the rough from 95 yards for eagle on the par-4 12th to start a back-nine comeback and edge Las Vegas resident Maverick Mcnealy by one stroke at the Fortinet Championsh­ip in Napa, California. Homa closed with a 7-under 65 for a 19-under 269 total in his third PGA Tour win and second this year. Mcnealy (68), who led after the second round and shared the third-round lead, was up by three shots with seven holes left.

■ European PGA: At Cromvoirt, Netherland­s, 772nd-ranked Kristoffer Broberg of Sweden closed the Dutch Open with an even-par 72 for a

23-under 265 total and a three-shot victory over Matthias Schmid (66). Broberg, 35, who led by eight strokes entering the final round, notched his second tour win and first since the 2015 BMW Masters.

■ LPGA: At West Linn, Ore., secondrank­ed Jin Young Ko closed the rainshorte­ned Cambia Portland Classic with a bogey-free 3-under 69 for an 11-under 205 total and a four-shot win over Jeongeun Lee (69) and Su Oh (69). The victory was Ko’s ninth and second in her past three starts.

■ Champions: At Sioux Falls, S.D., Darren Clarke closed the Sanford Internatio­nal with a 5-under 65 to tie Steve Flesch (66) and K.J. Choi (69) atop the leaderboar­d at 12-under 198 and then won with a birdie on the second playoff hole for his third victory this season.
