Murray, Cardinals prevail in shootout with Vikings
Kyler Murray threw for 400 yards and three touchdowns, ran for a score and threw two interceptions, and Arizona topped visiting Minnesota 34-33 after Greg Joseph missed a 37-yard field goal wide right in the final seconds.
The lead change hands eight times. The dizzying offensive pace — the Cardinals (2-0) led 24-23 at halftime after Matt Prater’s 62-yard field goal — slowed late. No TDS were scored in the final quarter.
Kirk Cousins threw for 244 yards and three TDS, Dalvin Cook ran for 131 yards on 22 carries, Joseph kicked two 52yard field goals, and linebacker Nick Vigil returned an interception 39 yards for a TD for the Vikings (0-2).
Buccaneers 48, Falcons 25: At Tampa, Fla., Tom Brady threw for 276 yards and five TDS, improving to 9-0 against Atlanta (0-2), as Tampa Bay (2-0) won its franchise-record 10th straight game. Tight end Rob Gronkowski caught two TD passes for a third straight game, including the Super Bowl. Matt Ryan threw for 300 yards and two TDS, with three interceptions — two of which safety Mike Edwards returned for fourth-quarter Bucs TDS.
Panthers 26, Saints 7: At Charlotte, N.C., Sam Darnold threw for 305 yards and two TDS, and Christian Mccaffrey had 137 yards from scrimmage and a TD for Carolina (2-0), which held a 274-65 edge in yards of offense in the first half. Jameis Winston was held to 111 yards passing, intercepted twice and sacked four times for New Orleans (1-1), and Alvin Kamara managed 5 yards on eight carries.
49ers 17, Eagles 11: At Philadelphia, Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 189 yards and a TD and ran for a score for San Francisco (2-0), which opened with three straight three-and-out possessions. Jalen Hurts was 12 of 23 passing for 190 yards and ran for 82 yards and a TD for Philadelphia (1-1).
