NFL NOTEBOOK Raiders offer COVID vaccination screening

-

The Raiders are again offering COVID-19 vaccine screening at Allegiant Stadium for three days ahead of their game Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.

Fans who can’t or do not want to utilize the Clear Health Pass app can provide proof of full or partial vaccination at a tent in Lot B of Allegiant Stadium between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All fully vaccinated fans can attend games without masks, while partially vaccinated guests and children between the ages of 2 and 11 can attend, but are required to wear masks.

“We wanted to keep that time consistent, so you didn’t have to look it up and wonder what it is,” team president Dan Ventrelle said. “People can know what to expect and plan around it and get it done in advance.”

Fans are asked to bring a government issued identification card and proof of vaccination status — paper copy, digital copy or government or medical services provider mobile application — to successfully complete the process.

Additionally, the Raiders are offering fans the chance to receive their first dose of the vaccine on all three days, not just game day as was the case for the first regular season game. The team saw

287 fans get their first COVID shot before the “Monday Night Football” showdown against the Baltimore Ravens last week.

Ventrelle recommends those looking to utilize the alternate screening do it on one of the first two days offered this week to ensure a smooth game day experience.

Also, in need of offensive line depth to deal with a slew of injuries, the Raiders are signing offensive tackle Jackson Barton off the practice squad of the Giants and adding him to the 53-man roster. Barton, 6 foot 7 inches and 300 pounds, also has spent time with Kansas City.

The Raiders lost right tackle Alex Leatherwood to a back strain in the first half of their win 0ver the Steelers on

Sunday. Leatherwood’s status for Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins is not yet known.

Browns: Wide receiver Jarvis Landry will miss at least Cleveland’s next three games after being placed on injured reserve with a sprained knee ligament.

Steelers: Quarterback

Ben Roethlisberger, outside linebackers T.J. Watt and

Alex Highsmith, wide receiver Diontae Johnson and cornerback Joe Haden and inside linebacker Devin Bush are among a growing list of players dealing with issues as Pittsburgh (1-1) prepares to host Cincinnati

(1-1) on Sunday. Defensive lineman Tyson Alualu is on injured reserve after undergoing surgery Monday on his fractured right ankle.

Texans: Rookie Davis

Mills will start at quarterback for Houston Thursday against Carolina (2-0) because Tyrod Taylor is out with a hamstring injury.

Coach David Culley said Taylor would be inactive and that the team plans to elevate Jeff Driskel from the practice squad to back up Mills.

Falcons: Atlanta signed punter Dustin Colquitt, 39, adding the two-time Pro Bowler to its practice squad.

Broncos: Pro Bowl linebacker Bradley Chubb needs surgery to remove bone spurs from his left ankle just four months after undergoing a similar surgery on his right ankle.

International Combine: The league will stage an international combine for 50 athletes from 14 countries next month in London.

The invitational scouting showcase is mirrored after the annual NFL combine. The idea is to find international athletes who have the skillset and potential to play in the NFL. It will take place Oct. 12 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
