Veteran wide receiver Snead cut by Raiders

The Raiders on Tuesday released veteran wide receiver Willie Snead, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

Snead’s playing time dwindled during the season with the emergence of young wide receivers Henry Ruggs and Bryan Edwards. With Hunter Renfrow as effective as he is in the slot, Snead was not getting many snaps.

Snead has three catches for 32 yards this year.

■ Packers: Receiver Allen Lazard joined 2020 All-pro wideout Davante Adams on the reserve/covid-19 list Tuesday. Adams was placed on the list Monday.

■ Chargers: Los Angeles signed kicker Dustin Hopkins on Tuesday after the team waived Tristan Vizcaino. Hopkins will be the 11th kicker to suit up for Los Angeles since 2017 when it faces New England on Sunday.

■ Cowboys: Dallas placed defensive lineman Brent Urban and cornerback Maurice Canady on injured reserve Tuesday, sidelining both for at least three games.

Urban has a triceps injury, and Canady sustained a concussion in

Dallas’ last game, a 35-29 overtime victory against New England on Oct. 17. The moves came a day after the team shifted receiver Michael Gallup to the Ir-designated for return list.

■ Giants: Safety Jabrill Peppers was placed on injured reserve with a rupture to the ACL and a high ankle sprain, both on his right leg.

■ Patriots: Former New England safety Patrick Chung was charged Tuesday in Massachuse­tts with assault and battery on a family or household member.

Chung, 34, appeared in court Tuesday for arraignmen­t with his fiancée and parents in attendance. Prosecutor­s allege he pushed a woman to the ground, slapped her in the face and broke her phone Monday outside of her home in Milton.

■ Ravens: Baltimore designated defensive end Derek Wolfe for return, allowing him to resume practicing.

The team announced the move Tuesday. Wolfe has been on injured reserve since Oct. 2 because of back problems.

■ Obit: Mike Lucci, a Pro Bowl linebacker who played nine seasons with the Detroit Lions, died Tuesday at age 81.

Lucci died after an extended illness, according to an obituary posted by

Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton, Florida.
