Wisconsin upsets No. 12 Houston

Johnny Davis scored a career-high 30 points and Wisconsin beat No. 12 Houston 65-63 in the Maui Invitation­al semifinals Tuesday.

The Cougars erased a 20-point halftime deficit and cut Wisconsin’s lead to two on Kyler Edwards’ 3-pointer with 40 seconds left. With the final possession, Jamal Shead drove baseline and passed to Edwards, who wasn’t expecting the feed, costing the Cougars a chance at a final attempt. Davis finished 10 of 18 from the floor, including 4 of 7 from 3-point range, and was 6 for 6 from the freethrow line.

Tyler Wahl chipped in with nine points and seven rebounds, while Brad Davison also had nine points for the Badgers (4-1).

Houston (4-1) was led by Edwards, who had 18 points — 15 in the second half via five 3-pointers — while Marcus Sasser added 11.

■ Texas A&M 57, Butler 50: Quenton Jackson had 15 points and five steals for the Aggies (5-1), who forced the Bulldogs (3-3) to turn the ball over 19 times.

Jair Bolden had 10 points to lead the Bulldogs.

■ St. Marys 62, Oregon 50: Dan Fotu scored 16 points for the Gaels (6-0), who got double-digit scoring from four players, while hitting 52.1 percent (25 of 48) from the floor. The Ducks (3-2) were led by Eric Williams Jr., who had 13 points and 5 rebounds.

■ Notre Dame 90, Chaminade 64: Nate Laszewski had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Fighting Irish (3-1), who held the Silverswor­ds (2-2) to 34 percent shooting. Empire Classic at T-mobile Arena

■ Bellarmine 76, Central Michigan 69: Dylan Penn scored 27 points on 51 percent shooting from the field for the Knights (1-5). Harrison Henderson scored 21 points and Jermaine Jackson Jr. added 17 off the bench for the Chippewas (1-4).
