WILLIAM "BILL" ADAMS
It is with profound sadness and grief
that the Adams family announces the passing of the supernova of our universe, Bill, on December 11, 2021, after losing a 2-1/2 year war with cancer. He
was like no other in intelligence, sense of humor, compassion and kindness—and
that doesn’t begin to scratch the surface of him as a man. He could talk to
anyone about almost anything—and did. He didn’t know a stranger. In his youth
he raced motorcycles and cars, and could take each apart and return them both running faster than before. Bill was born on December 26, 1944, in Loveland,
OH, where he grew up with his five sisters. At 17 he graduated from high
school and immediately joined the Navy, where he served during the early days
of the Viet Nam war; he was discharged in 1966. Flying was Bill’s first love. He had a commercial pilot’s license (with aerobatic designation), which he used to transport passengers for private hire. A jack of many trades and master of all of
them, Bill worked at Boeing, Bingham Willamette Shipyards, and Union Pacific
Railroad (all in Portland) as a master machinist; he formed and fit prosthetics
and orthodics at Advanced Orthopro (Indianapolis); was Production Mgr. for
ATM installer Dallman Industrial Corp. (Indianapolis); owned Adams Trucking (Indianapolis); drove for Nevada Ready Mix (Las Vegas). In retirement, he was a stock trader with Bright Trading (Las Vegas) until he left to private invest. He served also as a Director on the board of Sun City Summerlin Neighborhood
Maintenance Association. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John and
Rachel Adams; sisters Geraldine Johnson, Mary Lou Mullins and Patricia
Adams; half-sisters Jessie Reid and Betty Adams; half-brother John Adams, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Norma (Leavitt) Adams; sisters Shirley
Gray and Judy Terrell; half-sister Barbara Harrison; daughters April Murchinson and Casondra Adams; step daughter Heather Brumett; sister-in-law Lois Marquart; brothers-in-law
Bud Gray and Tommy Johnson; son-in-law Rickey Murchinson; nieces Stefanie (Gray) Kelley and Dawn
Johnson; nephews Tony Terrell, Johnny Terrell, Scotty Terrell, Tommy Johnson,
Jr. and Greg Burns; nephew-in-law Eric Kelley; grandchildren Kenny Johnson,
Jr., Jamelah Yoakum, Steven Guy, Jr., Terrell Guy, Diondrae Page, Dominique Roberson; step grandchildren Dustin Brumett and Lauren Brumett; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 step great-grandchildren; 1 grandniece; 1 grandnephew. Cremation by Neptune Society. Condolences may be shared on their website at https: //obituaries.neptunesociety.com/obituaries/ las-vegas-nv/william-adams-10486334.
