Three points by Tarasenko spur Blues’ win over Oilers

ST. LOUIS — Vladimir Tarasenko had a goal and two assists as the St. Louis Blues beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 on Wednesday.

Brandon Saad, Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrou also scored for St. Louis in its first game since Dec. 19. Leon Draisaitl and Evan Bouchard scored for Edmonton in its first game since Dec. 18.

Jordan Binnington made 26 saves for the Blues in his second start since being activated off the COVID-19 list. Mike Smith stopped 29 shots for the Oilers.

Craig Berube earned his 200th win as an NHL coach, making him the seventh in league history to win 200 games and play in at least 1,000. Berube played in 1,054 games over 17 seasons.

■ Canucks 2, Ducks 1, OT: At Anaheim, Calif., J.T. Miller assisted on Tanner Pearson’s tying goal 1:21 into the third period and scored 26 seconds into overtime in Vancouver’s seventh straight win. The Canucks had been idle since Dec. 16.

■ Capitals 5, Predators 3: At Washington, Evgeny Kuznetsov scored a go-ahead short-handed goal with 5:36 left in his return from an 18-day absence for Washington, which beat Nashville for the first time in nine games dating to 2017.

■ Flyers 3, Kraken 2, OT: At Seattle, Ivan Provorov scored 2:14 into overtime to back Martin Jones, who had 34 saves. James van Riemsdyk had two goals for Philadelph­ia, which is 5-0-1 in its past six games.

■ Panthers 4, Rangers 3: At Sunrise, Fla., Mackenzie Weegar, Carter Verhaeghe and Anthony Duclair scored in the third period to rally Florida in its first game in 13 days.

■ Devils 4, Sabres 3: At Buffalo, N.Y., Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt each had a goal and two assists for New Jersey, which halted a six-game slide.
