Florida Gulf Coast’s long shots derail Virginia Tech

Karli Seay hit a 3-pointer with 26 seconds left to lift No. 23 Florida Gulf Coast past No. 16 Virginia Tech 84-81 in College Park, Maryland, despite 6-foot-6inch Hokies center Elizabeth Kitley’s 42 points. The 12th-seeded Eagles (30-2) hit 15 of 38 3-point tries. Kitley scored the first 14 fourth-quarter points for fifthseede­d Virginia Tech (23-10).

■ No. 2 Stanford 78, Montana State 37: At Stanford, Calif., Francesca Belibi blocked a shot at the 3-point line and then drove the length of the floor and slammed the ball home with one hand for her third career dunk for the top-seeded Cardinal (29-3). The 16th-seeded Bobcats (22-13) missed their first 21 shots and trailed 23-0.

■ No. 13 Maryland 102, Delaware 71: At College Park, Md., Ashley Owusu had 24 points to lead five double-figure scorers for the fourth-seeded Terrapins (22-8), who shot 59 percent. Jasmine Dickey led the 13th-seeded Blue Hens (24-8) with 31 points.

■ Utah 92, Arkansas 69: At Austin, Texas, Kennady Mcqueen scored 20 points for the seventh-seeded Utes (21-11), who hit 15 of 31 3-point tries. Amber Ramirez had 24 points for the 10th-seeded Razorbacks (18-14), who cut a 20-point second-quarter deficit to 10 in the third.

■ Kansas 77, Georgia Tech 58: At Stanford, Calif., Ioanna Chatzileon­ti had 15 points for the eighth-seeded Jayhawks (21-9), who overcame a ninepoint first-half deficit. The ninth-seeded Yellowjack­ets (21-11) answered Kansas’ 10-0 start with a 22-3 run.

■ No. 6 Texas 70, Fairfield 52: At Austin, Texas, Aaliyah Moore had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the secondseed­ed Longhorns (27-6), who led 39-18 at halftime. The 15th-seeded Stags (25-7) got within 56-46 in the fourth quarter.
