John Bradley “Bonzo” Steen of Henderson

passed away at home on March 5th 2022 of natural causes. Originally from New York by way of Connecticut, John lived in the Las Vegas area since 1979. He had headed out for California in his customized van, and then decided to stay to be near his beloved grandmother – the late Helen White Galvin. John provided expertise with PTACS (Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners) for the hospitality industry in Nevada and Southern California. He retired as a Regional Sales Manager for the Goodman Corporation in May 2020. John was an ardent New York Yankees fan. He supported UNLV Men’s basketball and football teams and most recently became a licensed ticket holder of the Las Vegas Raiders. He will be missed by his many sporting friends – John loved to tailgate! In his younger years, John was active in the Democratic Party serving as a delegate for the Nevada caucus. He played softball, tennis and loved to cruise Lake Mead on his speedboat. John is predeceased in death by his parents William and Lucille Steen along with his beloved nephew Tyler Steen. He is survived by his brother (and his best friend) Thomas Steen and wife Tina of Simsbury CT and his sisters Cynthia Steen Petti and Suzanne Steen both of Osprey, FL. He doted on his nephews and nieces - Ryan Steen of Providence, RI; Corey Steen of Denver, CO; Shannon Munro of Saco, ME and Jessica Munro of Dallas, TX. He had close aunts and cousins across the US and in Northern Ireland, too. John was always the life of a party. His greatest joy was to be with family and friends. A celebration of life was held at his home, and another gathering is planned for this coming summer on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
