Star Trek:
The Motion Picture — The Director’s Edition Paramount+ Exclusive Film
As part of its celebration of First Contact Day (the day in Star Trek mythology when Vulcans made first contact with humans, April 5, 2063), Paramount+ begins exclusively streaming a meticulously assembled and restored high-definition version of 1979’s Star Trek: The Motion Picture, the movie that brought the Trek franchise onto the big screen. Through a process overseen by producer David C. Fein and preservationist Mike Matessino, the film has been fully remastered in 4K Ultra HD with enhanced visual effects with Dolby Vision and with high dynamic range on supported devices.

In the new episode “The Space Between,” Conrad (Matt Czuchry) treats one of Gigi’s (Remington Blaire Evans) classmates, whose stomachache turns out to be something much more serious.
Benjamin Franklin PBS, 8 p.m. Miniseries Finale
Ken Burns’ documentary miniseries about Benjamin Franklin concludes with
“An American (1775-1790).” In wartime Philadelphia, Franklin helps Thomas Jefferson craft the Declaration of Independence. In Paris, Franklin wins French support for the American Revolution. Back home, he works on the Constitution of the new United States.
Mr. Mayor NBC, 8:30 p.m.
In “The Illusion of Choice,” Mikaela (Vella Lovell) and Tommy (Mike Cabellon) help Jayden (Bobby Moynihan) transform into a Scorpio after he learns that his dream apartment has astrological-sign requirements. Meanwhile, Neil’s (Ted Danson) attempt to raise mayoral awareness takes a turn when James (Yedoye Travis) nudges him to put his face on trash cans all over the city.
Tony Hawk:
Until the Wheels Fall Off HBO, 9 p.m.
Centering around intimate new interviews with Tony Hawk himself, this documentary is an all-encompassing look at the skateboarder’s life, legendary career and relationship with the sport with which he’s been synonymous for decades.
To Tell the Truth ABC, 10 p.m.
Chelsea Handler, Thomas Lennon and Oscar Nunez make up the celebrity panel. Dig deep into this week’s episode with a panel featuring a professional hitchhiker, a person who had 30 dates in three days, a cemetery archaeologist, a pogo world champion and the Dippin’ Dots inventor.
Big Restaurant Bet Food Network, 10 p.m. New Series
Food Network star, acclaimed chef and restaurateur Geoffrey Zakarian is looking to invest $250,000 in the restaurant world’s next rising star. Through six one-hour episodes, Geoffrey presents eight talented chefs with the opportunity to take the next step in their culinary career with challenges to determine who has what it takes to run their first restaurant.
True Conviction Investigation Discovery, 10 p.m.
In “Life Is a Battlefield,” in December 2015, darkness falls on San Antonio when Army veteran Jesse Richards’ life is tragically taken in a senseless murder. Investigators in the San Antonio Police Department grow frustrated with leads that go nowhere, but just when the case seems to have gone cold, new life is breathed into the investigation with an unexpected phone call.
