PAUL ANTHONY SAN FILIPO

-

Although he will always be remembered as the life of the party and larger than life itself, Paul Anthony San Filipo, a great friend to many and former owner of Gipsy Nightclub and Piranha Nightclub has left this world peacefully on April 4th, 2022.

Paul San Filipo was born on March 5th 1964 outside of Los Angeles in Northridge California and spent his early adult life in the Las Vegas valley before becoming part of Las Vegas history. As a determined business man and pioneer in gay Las Vegas, Paul placed the Las Vegas LGBTQ+ scene on the map by purchasing the world-famous Gipsy Nightclub in 1994 followed by opening the celebrity hideout Piranha Nightclub in 2006 in which his friend, the one, Miss Janet Jackson would visit often. To this very day, his vision and creation, Piranha Nightclub continues to be one of the best nightlife destinations worldwide. With his vision and creative concepts, the world-famous Gipsy Nightclub will make its return in late 2022 in his honor. Many of us could already hear him say "Honey, Honey, Honey, Play some Janet".

Since semi retiring from the nightlife scene in 2014, Paul lived an adventurous life between Las Vegas and Los Angeles, traveling the world and spending time with his dearest friends Jerry Masini, Gil Duldulao, Chris Adams, Kelli Cross, Nico Martinez and his beloved cats. He enjoyed a good episode of Will and Grace and funny movies where he would recite funny lines and quirky one-liners to friends for a good laugh. He loved the sandy beaches of Hawaii and traveled to many Janet Tours around the world. Paul had a profound love for animals and often rescued as many as he could take in while donating to several animal foundations over many years.

Paul is survived by his brother Peter San Filipo and his 4 beloved cats. He was preceded in death by his father Peter San Filipo and mother Marilyn San Filipo.

A private service for family and close friends will be held. In lieu of gifts, please donate to Paul's favorite animal charity Americanhumane.org. Sign guestbook at obituaries.reviewjournal.com
