SHARENE “GRAMMIE” WILSON

-

As I sit here writing my mothers obituary with family all around, I take comfort knowing she is in a better place now and for ever more. In our hearts forever and with angels all around its at this time we announce

the passing of our sweet angel, heaven is lucky to have her. Sharene Wilson, called “Grammie” by her family, was born on March 11, 1943 she was 79 years young, passing away on April 22, 2022. Grammie had a stroke two weeks prior to her passing, fought the good fight, but ultimately passed away holding her granddaughter (Riley’s) hand as she took her last breath. Sharene graduated from Washington High School in San Francisco California in 1960. She married her sweetheart, John Wilson, in 1963 while he was serving in the United States Navy. They were married 59 beautiful years, were life long companions and best friends. During that time they were blessed with three children; Jeffrey, Julie (Edmiston) and Michael. Sharene’s hobbies included crocheting, making delicious toffee and Baja beef, ( a meal we all loved) and serving her family. She loved to go on shopping trips to Wal-mart and would never say no to a good glass (or a bad one) of Chardonnay. She was classy, she was never without her nails and hair primped and ready to go and always matching in her pink and purple outfits. Without Wifi, computer or a smartphone she still accomplished all tasks “old school style” from balancing her check book by hand or still needing to leave a message on her answering machine. Grammie also had enough cook books to make Betty Crocker proud; she was the queen of hospitality, would never show up empty handed (or leave without a togo cup) and always made sure to give hugs and kisses to everyone before leaving. Grammie is survived by her husband John, their children: Jeff Wilson and his wife Judy, Julie Edmiston and Michael Wilson, her eight grandchildren: Lindsay, Riley, Adrianna, Amanda, Jacob, Jenae, Trace and Alexa, and her first great grand baby boy, James. All who knew Grammie absolutely adored her; she will be especially remembered for her witty comments, her tender heart, the way she laughed while trying to tell a joke and most importantly, for being the glue for her entire family.
