It is with deep sadness that the family of Walter Henry Hess announces his passing April 23, 2022 in Logandale, NV. He was born July 1, 1965 in Charleston, SC and moved to Fairfield, CA with his family when he was 6 months old. After attending K.I. Jones Elementary School and Sullivan Middle School, Walt graduated from Fairfield High School in 1983. He earned the honor of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America and later served as a Scoutmaste­r for a local troop in Fairfield. Walter continued his education taking several courses at Solano Community College. After operating his own machine shop with his business partner and working for Jelly Belly in Fairfield for several years, Walt moved to Logandale, NV in 2005, going to work for Long Mountain Outfitters building and repairing machine guns. Walt also worked at LV Swiss Machine in southern Utah, Great Buns Bakery, and currently TH Foods-maintenanc­e in Henderson. He was also active in and developed many friendship­s throughout the arts communitie­s in both St. George and Las Vegas. He felt at home in any good conversati­on, but especially about cars or food, and loved just about any yard sale, thrift store, or auction. Walt leaves behind brothers: Karl (Jan) in Lincoln, CA and Paul (Mary Ann) in Napa, CA, 3 nephews and a niece. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Orland. He will be missed by his family and his many friends. All are invited to an Open House in his honor on Friday, May 6, 2022, from 5-8 PM at 620 Ron Ave. in Logandale.
