Mary Jo Ann Richeal Pranger passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022; after a three and one-half year battle with lung cancer. She was 90 years old. Mary Jo was born March 5, 1932, in Clinton, IA to Joseph and Minnie (Deltgen) Richeal. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1950. In September 1953, she married Charles F. Pranger. They moved to Santa Monica, CA and began their family with the birth of Steven in 1955. They then moved to Sparks, where their family continued to grow. In 1965, they moved to Las Vegas. Mary Jo went back to work in 1976 at the Las Vegas Metropolit­an Police Department as a SCOPE Entry Operator. At retirement in 1998 under Sheriff Keller, she was a Senior LEST. Mary Jo’s passion was traveling and cruising. She and Charlie belonged to RV groups until Charlie died in 1992. Mary Jo then became an avid cruiser AKA "Cruise Queen" taking more than 50 cruises in her lifetime! She traveled the world! She was also an avid bowler and belonged to several BUNCO groups. Mary Jo is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Charles; her parents Joseph and Minnie Richeal, her sister Shirley Freudenber­g, her brother Gary Richeal, and her son, Steven. Mary Jo is survived by sons Ronald J. and Bruce A. (Carrie) and her daughter, Nancy Slattery (David), and grandchild­ren Shannon, Adam, Michael, Kirsten, Shawn, and Marissa. She is blessed with great grandchild­ren Issaiah, Phalyn, Elijah, Michaleen, Theodore and Anthony. A Funeral Mass will be at 11am Tue., May 17, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 6350 N Ft Apache Rd, Las Vegas. A reception will be at the church immediatel­y following.
