Miscue in 10th sinks Dodgers, boosts Phillies

PHILADELPH­IA — Max Muncy’s two-run error in the 10th capped a wild late-inning sequence Sunday, allowing Philadelph­ia to beat Los Angeles 4-3 and end the Dodgers’ seven-game win streak.

With two outs and runners on second and third in the 10th, Alec Bohm hit a dribbler off Evan Phillips (1-2) to Muncy at second for what appeared to be the final out. But Muncy didn’t field it cleanly, allowing Garrett Stubbs to score the tying run and Roman Quinn to bring in the winning run just ahead of a throw home.

Stubbs hit his first major league homer to get the Phillies on the board in the sixth. Philadelph­ia tied the game with two outs in the ninth on Jean Segura’s single to left that scored Nick Castellano­s, whose two-out double started the rally.

Mookie Betts and Edwin Rios hit solo home runs for Los Angeles to back Tony Gonsolin, who allowed one run on three hits and one walk and struck out seven in six innings.

Phillies starter Zach Eflin struck out a career-high 12 while allowing two runs on four hits and two walks in seven innings.

Trea Turner had three hits for the Dodgers, including an RBI single.

1. Tim Anderson’s three hits in Game 2 included a three-run homer in Chicago’s five-run eighth, backing Michael Kopech (1-1), who allowed one hit in seven shutout innings.

■ Cardinals 18, Pirates 4: At Pittsburgh, Albert Pujols hit his 682nd and 683rd home runs and then caught the warmup tosses when catcher Yadier Molina made his first pitching appearance. Molina allowed four runs, including two homers, in the ninth.

■ Angels 4, Athletics 1: At Anaheim, Calif.,

Mike Trout hit a solo home run, an RBI single and a double to back Patrick Sandoval (3-1), who allowed one run in 7⅓ innings.

■ Marlins 4, Braves 3: At Miami, Sandy Alcantara (4-2) held Atlanta to three unearned runs on six hits and struck out seven in his fourth complete game.

■ Mets 2, Rockies 0: At Denver, Francisco Lindor hit a go-ahead RBI single in the sixth to back Taijuan Walker (2-0), who pitched seven shutout innings.

■ Padres 10, Giants 1: At San Francisco, Manny Machado had three doubles, a triple and two RBIS to tie a San Diego record with four extra-base hits.

■ Cubs 5, Diamondbac­ks 4: At Chicago, Patrick Wisdom and Frank Schwindel hit consecutiv­e homers off Ian Kennedy (3-3) in the Chicago eighth.

■ Astros 5, Rangers 2: At Houston, Jose Urquidy (4-1) allowed one run and struck out 10 in 6⅔ innings to improve to 4-0 against Texas.

■ Red Sox 8, Mariners 4: At Boston, Franchy Cordero hit a two-out, walk-off grand slam in the 10th in Boston’s fifth straight win.

■ Twins 7, Royals 6: At Kansas City, Mo., Gio Urshela’s tiebreakin­g RBI single in the ninth capped Minnesota’s rally from a 6-0 deficit.

■ Tigers 4, Guardians 2: At Cleveland, rookie Alex Faedo (1-1) allowed two runs over 5⅓ innings in his first major league win.

■ Nationals 8, Brewers 2: At Milwaukee,

Lane Thomas hit one of his two RBI doubles in Washington’s six-run fourth.

■ Orioles 7, Rays 6: At Baltimore, Rougned Odor had an RBI single in the 11th for his second walk-off hit in three days.

■ Reds 3, Blue Jays 2: At Toronto, Joey Votto hit a tiebreakin­g home run in the Cincinnati eighth.
