WASHINGTON — Las Vegas High and UNLV product Erick Fedde combined with three relievers on a six-hit shutout, Cesar Hernandez hit an RBI single in the sixth inning, and Washington beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 1-0 on Wednesday to avoid a series sweep.

The Nationals had lost nine straight to the Dodgers dating to the 2019 playoffs. Los Angeles (29-14), which has the National League’s best record, lost for the second time in 11 games. Washington was outscored 19-5 in the series’ first two games.
