-

■ Lake Mead — Striped bass and catfish are hitting lines early in the day and at night. Catfish are taking anchovies off the bottom about 40 feet from shore. Shad are being caught near Las Vegas Bay and used as bait around Boulder Basin’s 33-hole. Black bass are hitting plastics, jigs and floaters outside Callville and the Boulder islands.

■ Lake Mohave/willow Beach — Smallmouth bass are hanging along rocky shelves and can be fished with drop-shot rigs. Striped bass are taking jointed imitation shad and trout lures at the marina and on the south end by Davis Dam. Rainbow trout are hitting jerkbaits.

■ Laughlin — Striped bass fishing is strong below Davis Dam and through Casino Row. The average size is about 2 pounds. Stripers and catfish are hitting anchovy pieces off the bottom. Rainbow trout are biting spinners and Powerbait in deep waters above Big Bend State Recreation Area.

■ Las Vegas urban ponds — Bluegill and catfish are taking mealworms and night crawlers. Please discard fishing line in receptacles or take it home to mail to Berkley Recycling.

■ Kirch Wildlife Management Area — Bass fishing will continue to improve as temperatures rise. Fishing has been better in the evenings than in the mornings. Trout are hitting spinners and Woolly Buggers on Cold Springs Reservoir.

■ Eagle Valley Reservoir — Trout have been active at sunrise and sunset. Worms and spinners are working great for 11- to 13-inch rainbows and tiger trout. Crappie have been hitting jigs.

■ Echo Canyon Reservoir — Weeds are rising, but fishing below bobbers will keep the worms low enough to entice trout out of the vegetation. Crappie are taking jigs toward the bridge. Rainbows are taking worms and Powerbait just off the bottom. Bass are hitting worms.
