NEW YORK — Brandon Nimmo saved

Jacob degrom and the New York Mets with a breathtaking catch at the center-field fence, and Edwin Diaz entered to Timmy Trumpet’s live horn before closing out the Los Angeles Dodgers for a

2-1 victory Wednesday.

Starling Marte hit a two-run homer in the third off All-star left-hander Tyler Anderson (13-3), a Spring Valley product, as the Mets evened the three-game set between the National League’s top two teams.

Mookie Betts connected off degrom (4-1) in the sixth for his 32nd homer. Degrom hit 102 mph on the radar gun and struck out nine in seven innings, allowing three hits and one walk.

The two-time Cy Young Award winner was nursing a 2-1 lead when Justin Turner sent a drive to deep center in the seventh. Nimmo raced back and plucked the ball off the top of the wall.

In the ninth, Trumpet and Diaz took center stage. The Australian-born musician was at Citi Field with trumpet in hand for the second straight night to accompany Diaz’s entrance with a live version of his song “Narco,” which has become popular as the closer’s entrance tune. Diaz didn’t get into Tuesday’s 4-3 loss.
