Vikings sweat out London victory over New Orleans

Greg Joseph kicked a 47-yard field goal with 24 seconds left, and Minnesota hung to beat New Orleans 28-25 in London when Wil Lutz’s 61-yard tying attempt hit the left upright and then the crossbar as time expired.

Wide receiver Justin Jefferson had a 39-yard catch for the Vikings (3-1) to set up Joseph’s go-ahead kick, his fifth field goal in as many attempts on the day. The Saints (13) had tied it on a 60-yard field goal by Lutz with 1:51 left.

Jefferson had 10 catches for 147 yards and a 3-yard TD run, and Kirk Cousins threw for 273 yards and a TD with an intercepti­on for Minnesota. Andy Dalton threw for 236 yards and a TD for New Orleans.

■ Cowboys 25, Commanders 10: At Arlington, Texas, Cooper Rush threw for 223 yards and two TDS for Dallas (3-1), which has held its first four opponents to 19 points or fewer for the first time since 1973. Wide receiver Ceedee Lamb had six catches for 97 yards and a TD, and Brett Maher kicked four field goals for the Cowboys. Carson Wentz threw two intercepti­ons and twice was flagged for intentiona­l grounding for Washington (1-3), which had 11 penalties for 136 yards.

■ Seahawks 48, Lions 45: At Detroit, Geno Smith threw for 320 yards and two TDS and ran for 49 yards and a TD for Seattle (2-2), which led 38-23 after three quarters. Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf had seven catches for 149 yards. Tight end T.J. Hockenson had eight catches for 179 yards and two TDS, the second of which pulled Detroit (1-3) within three with 5:26 left. Jared Goff threw for 378 yards and four TDS with an intercepti­on that cornerback Tariq Woolen returned 40 yards for a TD that put Seattle up 31-15.

■ Giants 20, Bears 12: At East Rutherford, N.J., QB Daniel Jones had 21and 8-yard TD runs before exiting with an ankle injury for New York (3-1), which used running back Saquon Barkley as a wildcat QB after backup Tyrod Taylor went into concussion protocol. Barkley amassed 146 of the Giants’ 262 yards rushing. Michael Badgley kicked four field goals for Chicago (2-2) while filling in for Cairo Santos, who was absent for personal reasons. Bears QB Justin Fields threw for 163 yards, ran for 52 yards and was sacked five times.

■ Cardinals 26, Panthers 16: At Charlotte, N.C., Kyler Murray threw for 207 yards and two TDS and ran for a score for Arizona (2-2), which held a 17-minute edge in time of possession and beat Carolina (1-3) for the first time in the teams’ past seven meetings. Panthers QB Baker Mayfield threw two intercepti­ons and was sacked five times. The Cardinals took their first lead in regulation this season with Matt Prater’s 39-yard field goal with 11:22 left.
