SALLY JEAN TOMASELLO May 13, 1954 - August 18, 2022
Sally Jean, our beloved Mother, while surrounded by family and friends, soared to the heavens this summer with all her grace and dignity. Always stoic and now free of pain and worry, she embarked on her next journey, leaving us all with a gaping hole in our hearts. Our ever beautiful Mother was true blue. Her dedication to her family was unwavering. Extremely refined and uncommonly particular, she had more soul than a Sunday Service. Wise and witty, sharp like a blade and tough as steel, Sally was the coolest.
Born Sally Jean Potter in Milwaukee Wisconsin to Audrey Potter (nee Teetz) and Myron Potter Jr. Having been the middle child of 9 siblings, Sally was instilled with a strong sense of self, of duty, and of family bonding. Her familial cohesiveness was everlasting, imbuing her life with a foundation of pride and purpose. Her formative years were filled with family outings and constant celebrations. Shortly after graduating Juneau High School in 1972 she sought adventure and headed out West with her high school love whom she then married. Las Vegas, NV became her new home where she planted roots. During this period of her life, she spent many wonderful and exciting times with her relatives at their beach house in Oxnard, CA. Her beach days in sunny California were filled with surf life, bonfire gatherings and legendary parties. Soon after settling in Las Vegas Sally expanded her family by gifting life to 3 gorgeous and intelligent children who adored her. Her hard-working ethics, entrepreneurial spirit, and duty to family evolved into a successful family business which she co-owned and operated for the entirety of her life. One would say, with a golden smile and a platinum frown, Sally was both a saint and formidable opponent. She was as selfless as she was beautiful, with her radiant smile and fragrant hair. A meticulous curator of her life and archivist of all things of importance. The hostess with the mostess, she was forever feeding our hungers and nurturing our spirits. She immensely enjoyed spanning time with her family, cooking delicious meals (most notably making meatballs better than any Italian), taking care of business, Motown music, dancing, sunning in her bikini, reading the daily newspaper, notating worthwhile information on index cards, manicuring her own nails, relaxing outside on her stoop while watering her lawn, watching Columbo, creating thoughtful gifts and cards, Cribbage player extraordinaire, Sally was IT! A wonderful Mother and dearly loved by her 7 grandchildren, she bestowed upon us a legacy of happiness, integrity and unsurpassed love. Making her frequent rounds to each of her children's homes and businesses, she blessed our lives in so many ways, always for the better. Her joy and guidance will forever be missed. She was and always will be the love of our lives.
She is preceded in death by her parents and baby sister Peggy Jo. She is survived by her children: Michael, Gina, and Angela. Grandchildren: Angelo, Lincoln, Gianna, Bella, Pierce, Jackson, and Dominic. Husband: Mike. Siblings: Mike, Linda, Thomas "Tom", James "Jim", Bonnie, Robert "Bob", and William "Bill".
