Carter, Magic roll by Suns for second straight victory

ORLANDO, Fla. — Wendell Carter Jr. had 20 points and 10 rebounds to help Orlando beat Phoenix 114-97 Friday.

Terrence Ross scored 12 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter for the Magic (4-9), who earned a second straight win for the first time this season. Franz Wagner had 17 points, Jalen Suggs 16 points and Bol Bol 15 rebounds for Orlando, which shot 52.4 percent and had a 50-38 edge in rebounds.

Cameron Payne scored 22 points and Devin Booker 17 for the Suns (8-4), who played a second straight game without guard Chris Paul (sore right heel). Phoenix shot 40.0 percent while missing 29 of 42 3-point tries.

■ Kings 120, Lakers 114: At Los Angeles, De’aaron Fox had 32 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds for Sacramento, which closed on an 8-0 run and dealt Los Angeles (2-10) its fifth straight loss. Anthony Davis had 24 points and 14 rebounds for the Lakers, who were without top scorer Lebron James (groin strain) and missed eight of their final 10 shots. Russell Westbrook, who had 21 points, hit a 3-pointer that put Los Angeles up by two with 2:13 left. The Lakers didn’t score again. Domantas Sabonis had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Kings.

■ Warriors 106, Cavaliers 101: At

San Francisco, Stephen Curry hit a tying 3-pointer with 1:18 left, a go-ahead layup moments later off a perfect, long feed from Kevon Looney and then more more dagger 3 on the way to 40 points, rallying Golden State. Donovan Mitchell had 29 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists for Cleveland but went down hard grabbing at his right ankle in the waning moments.

■ Spurs 111, Bucks 93: At San Antonio, Keldon Johnson scored 29 points for San Antonio, which held a 21-0 edge in fastbreak points and halted a five-game slide. Milwaukee (10-2) was without seven players — including its two top scorers — because of health issues.

■ Celtics 131, Nuggets 112: At Boston,

Jayson Tatum scored 34 points and Jaylen Brown 25 for Boston, which won its fifth straight and halted Denver’s four-game win streak. Foul-plagued Nikola Jokic had 29 points for the Nuggets.

■ Knicks 121, Pistons 112: At New York, R.J. Barrett scored 30 points and Jalen Brunson 26 for New York, which dropped Detroit to 0-7 on the road. Bojan Bogdanovic had 25 points for the Pistons in their fifth loss in six games.

■ Thunder 132, Raptors 113: At Oklahoma City, reserve Eugene Omoruyi scored a career-high 22 points on 8-for-10 shooting for Oklahoma City, which halted a four-game skid with its most decisive win this season.

■ Grizzlies 114, Timberwolv­es 103: At Memphis, Tenn., Ja Morant had 28 points, nine rebounds and eight assists while leading three 20-point scorers for Memphis, which won for the fifth time in six games.
