Nevada fishing report

-

■ Lake Mead — Topwater action for bass has slowed in the mornings. Stripers have been hitting jointed swimbaits and silver crankbaits about 40 feet from shore. Boaters have been dropping anchovies 30 to 50 feet down at the edges of coves for the most success. Black bass are hitting diving crankbaits and crawdad patterns near Callville Bay and through Government Wash.

■ Lake Mohave/willow Beach — Rainbow trout are hitting tubes, spinners and night crawlers at the pier and shorelines near Willow Beach. Double-digit stripers have been caught while trolling 10 feet down with swimbaits. Smallmouth bass are active in Cottonwood Basin coves.

■ Laughlin — Stocked rainbow trout are hitting jigs, spinners, Powerbait and worms from shore. Boaters are trolling anchovies and trout lures to land 1- to 2-pound striped bass. Catfish are taking stink bait and anchovies near the lagoon.

■ Las Vegas urban ponds — Stocked rainbow trout are taking Powerbait, night crawlers and night crawler/minimarshmallow combinations. Catfish were caught with night crawlers last weekend. Most anglers caught their limits of three fish each.

■ Kirch Wildlife Management

■ Eagle Valley Reservoir — The ice is only 70 percent frozen, and the reservoir is full. Ice fishing will start in a couple of weeks. Contact the park at 775-962-5102 and check the weather report for up-to-date ice conditions.
