MARY ANN NIMMO

-

Mary Ann (Meeks) Nimmo passed away peacefully on September 3, 2022, at the age of 91. She was born on April 26, 1931, in Dixon, Illinois. Mary Ann had been a resident of Las Vegas since 1950. She was the mother to four, grandmother of seven and the great-grandmother to six. She had a witty sense of humor and keen sense of style.

Mary Ann first began working in Las Vegas at the Desert Inn Hotel and became the manager of reservations. She loved the energy and style of old Las Vegas in the 1950 & 60's. She then earned a Master of Education degree at the University of Nevada-las Vegas. She taught for more than 20 years in the Clark County School District, with the greatest amount of time at Cashman JH and Bonanza HS. She had a passion for her students and teaching them marketable business skills. In her retirement, she worked at the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority welcoming convention attendees and enjoyed this job tremendously.

She married Louis S. Nimmo in 1978 and they loved to travel. They explored many countries within 5 continents by land, sea, and air. They were also proud original residents of Sun City Summerlin and loved their retirement community.

Mary Ann was precluded in death by her husband, Louis S. Nimmo, and her son, Randy L. Donoho. She is survived by two daughters, Robin and Jana, and one son, Sam. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but we have comfort knowing she is at peace and reunited with her husband, son, and many family members in heaven.

Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Nathan Adelson Hospice who brought comfort to our mother in her final days. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Nathan Adelson Hospice as they were beyond helpful and comforting to Mary Ann and her family.

A celebration of life will be held from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM on 2022-12-02 at Veterans Memorial Cemetery - Boulder City, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive.
