Indiana stays unbeaten, keeps Tar Heels reeling

BLOOMINGTO­N, Ind. — Trayce Jackson-davis had 21 points and 10 rebounds, Xavier Johnson scored 20 points, and No. 10 Indiana beat No. 18 North Carolina 77-65 on Wednesday.

The Hoosiers (7-0) produced their most impressive win this season two days after cracking the top 10 for the first time since 2017 and exactly six years since beating a Tar Heels team that went on to win the national title.

Pete Nance had 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead North Carolina (5-3), the preseason No. 1 that has lost three straight for the first time since 2019-20. Caleb Love added 13 points.

The Tar Heels trailed 35-29 at intermissi­on, and Indiana opened the second with an 11-2 run to go up 46-31 with 15:59 to go. North Carolina didn’t get closer than seven the rest of the way.

■ No. 5 Purdue 79, Florida State 69: At Tallahasse­e, Fla., Zach Edey scored 25 points for the Boilermake­rs (7-0), who had a 46-31 edge in rebounds in their nation-best 20th straight regular-season nonconfere­nce win. Darin Green Jr. scored 16 of his 23 points in the first half for the Seminoles (1-8), who trailed 34-32 at intermissi­on.

■ No. 13 Tennessee 76, Mcneese State 40: At Knoxville, Tenn., Santiago Vescovi scored 16 points for the

Volunteers (6-1), who held the Cowboys (2-6) to 28.6 percent shooting and no double-figure scorers.

■ No. 17 Duke 81, No. 25 Ohio State 72: At Durham, N.C., Kyle Filipowski converted a key three-point play with 2:37 left and totaled 16 points for the Blue Devils (7-2), who led by at least six points over the final three minutes. Zed Key scored 17 of his 21 points in the second half for the Buckeyes (5-2).

■ Notre Dame 70, No. 20 Michigan State 52: At South Bend, Ind., Cormac Ryan hit all six of his 3-point tries while scoring 20 of his 23 points in the first half for the Fighting Irish (6-1), who didn’t commit a turnover in the first 17 minutes. The Spartans (5-3) trailed 42-24 at intermissi­on.

■ No. 23 Iowa State 63, North

Dakota 44: At Ames, Iowa, UNLV transfer Caleb Grill scored 16 points for the Cyclones (6-1), who led 26-24 at halftime after shooting 32.4 percent. The Fighting Hawks (5-4) had no double-figure scorers. MOUNTAIN WEST

■ Santa Clara 89, Wyoming 85, OT: At Salt Lake City, Carlos Stewart scored six of his 19 points in overtime for the Broncos (6-2), whose starters all scored in double figures. Noah Reynolds had 25 points for the Cowboys (3-4), who led 4436 at halftime.

■ Colorado State 87, Loyola Marymount 71: At Fort Collins, Colo., John Tonje had 23 points to lead five double-figure scorers for the Rams (6-2), who shot 53.2 percent. Cameron Shelton had 21 points for the Lions (6-3), who trailed 32-27 at halftime.

■ Air Force 81, Arkansas-pine Bluff 53: At Colorado Springs, Colo., Ethan Taylor scored 16 points for the Falcons (53), who shot 54.0 percent and didn’t trail. The Golden Lions (2-7) shot 33.9 percent.

■ New Mexico 69, Saint Mary’s 65: At Moraga, Calif., Jaelen House scored 17 points for the Lobos (7-0), who didn’t trail in the second half. Alex Ducas had 25 points for the Gaels (6-2).
