■ Las Vegas urban ponds — The trout bite has been hit and miss. Smaller stocked rainbows have been hitting Powerbait and night crawlers.

■ Kirch Wildlife Management Area — Recent storms have altered the reservoirs’ shoreline conditions and kept ice thin. Some areas are thicker than others, so anglers should use extreme caution.

■ Eagle Valley Reservoir — Rainbow and tiger trout have been hitting night crawlers, mealworms and Powerbait in waters around 10 feet deep. The ice is about 8 inches thick with a couple of inches of powder on top.

■ Echo Canyon Reservoir — A thin ice layer covers the reservoir, and ice fishing is not recommended. Call Echo Canyon State Park at 775-962-5103 for up-to-date conditions.
