Jack Edward Cason, 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at home with his family. He was in Ardmore, Oklahoma on March 18th, 1927, to Vernon and Dallas Cason. He is preceded in death by his son, Eddie Jack Cason (1951-1956) and his brother, Peter James Cason (1929-1985). He is survived by his wife, Maxine, married 73 years, his children, Dana Cason Teepe and her Mike Teepe and Patrick Jack Cason. He is also survived by his 6 grandchild­ren and spouses, Kasey, Gina and her husband Kevin, Christi and her husband Jason, Taylor and her husband Stephen; grandson, Tanner and Trevor and 4 great grandchild­ren, Chloe, Cora, Melani, Haley and his nephew, Mark Cason, and his wife Debbie and their son Conor. Jack and Maxine were married on November 19, 1949. Jack is WWII Navy Veteran. Jack and Maxine moved from San Bernardino, California to Las Vegas in 1950. He founded Rebel Oil Company in 1952. Jack was inducted into the UNLV Sports Hall of Fame in 1994 for his involvemen­t and support for the UNLV athletic programs. He received the most prestigiou­s “Distinguis­hed Nevadan Award” which honors prominent Nevadans who have contribute­d to the cultural, scientific, or social advancemen­t of the state. One of his proudest achievemen­ts was coaching Trinity High School girls, 1A Basketball Team and becoming the 1A Nevada State Champions in the 1999-2000 season. He will always be remembered for his dedication and love his family and his farreachin­g generosity towards others. He was a role model and mentor to his family, friends, employees and athletes. He will be greatly missed and loved forever.
