They are referred to here as stepsons to show respect for their other family ties; however, they were always sons to Richard as he never differentiated among his children. Richard is also survived by eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Richard was a combat veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He shared at times the difficulties of that experience; it was impactful to him. He was knowledgeable about marketing psychology and had a meaningful career with Houston Lumber. In his later years he worked for Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic church, his service became a source of deep connection between him and his wife. Many have been blessed through the years by Richard’s drawing skills. His sons speak fondly of the birthday and special event posters he would make each year. Richard enjoyed storytelling and often shared his experiences and thoughts through stories. The family is blessed to have an abundance of photos depicting him in tender and loving moments with his wife, children and grandchildren. His presence in our lives will be felt for generations.
