WILLIAM (BILL) LEE KATZ

William (Bill) Katz passed 2-21-2023 at the PAM Long Term Care Center. He was born November 1, 1952 in Los Angeles, to Dr. Albert and Audrey Katz. Bill lost his battle with heart failure but bravely fought for 41 days. Bill was a U.S. Marine who served during the Vietnam era and graduated from University of Nevada at Las Vegas with a degree in Hotel Administra­tion. Bill loved the complexiti­es of managing banquets at The Flamingo Hilton in Laughlin, and would regale family and friends of stories of the different types of banquets he set up. In a shift of careers to enable him to spend time with his family, Bill became a locksmith and owned his own Locksmith Company, Kwik Key Lock Company, for 5 years. Bill then worked as a locksmith with the Texas Station until his retirement. Bill loved his family and friends with a fierce devotion. Bill loved riding his Harley Davidson Trike, cooking for family and friends, reading and watching Science Fiction and Westerns. Bill loved to travel nationally and internatio­nally and visited Italy, Prague, Germany, Mexico and Canada towards the end of his life. A long-term dream of Bills was to go to Mardi Gras which was realized in 2022. Bill is survived by his wife of 36 years Denise; first-born son, Shaun, wife Jackie and granddaugh­ters, Alissa, Jasmine, Leah, Melody and Aurora Katz; son, Robert Katz; son Micheal Katz and his fiancée Rebecca Ward of Texas; grandson, Landon Katz of Las Vegas; brother, Dr. James Katz and his wife, Gail Brewer-katz, nephew Jeremy Katz and niece Natalie Katz and her husband Tal Sela; sisters-in-law, Colleen Norris of Las Vegas, Traci Norris of California and Terri Marceau and her husband Travis Marceau; nephews, Quaid Marceau, Travis Marceau and niece Katie Marceau and her children Sophie and Cameron, all of Las Vegas, NV. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made the Diabetes Foundation. Services will be at noon Mon., Feb. 27, at Palm Downtown Mortuary at 1325 N. Main Street, Las Vegas, NV 89101. Burial will be at 1pm at Palm Downtown Cemetery.
