Solutions are often simple
Many topics of conversation that are fiercely debated are often overcomplicated by people who don’t focus on the frustratingly sensible solutions. For instance:
■ Climate: Eliminate combustion in all products; plant trees.
■ War: No country has the right to forcibly invade another sovereign nation. If that occurs, eliminate leader of the invading country.
■ Homelessness: All cities must provide shelter for homeless people, making living on the street illegal. Then we can address underlying issues.
■ Health care: Basic Medicare for everyone.
■ Hunger: Strategically create food banks while developing sustainable solutions.
■ Inflation: Oil prices play a major role in our economy. Until renewables can be seamlessly integrated into our society, increase domestic production to meet demand.
■ Abortion: Keep health care decisions, like religion, out of politics.
■ Guns: Everyone has a right to own a gun. A comprehensive and strict licensing criteria must be developed and enforced. This includes minimum age, mental stability, competency, traceability, storage, etc.
■ Border: Finish the wall to control entry points. Determine the maximum number of vetted immigrants per month, dispersing them evenly between states to fill job openings. Expedite citizenship with learning English mandatory.
■ Voting: Similar to bank websites, create a secure online voting system, eliminating the Electoral College and gerrymandering, with each candidate providing a biography.
■ Drought: This can be eliminated through desalination plants. We have oil and gas pipelines from Los Angeles to every drought-restricted area; we can certainly transport seawater to solar-powered desalination plants. Fill lakes.
